Mentorship

Mentorship

One of the benefits of your membership in the Eastern PA Chapter of AFP is access to opportunities to find mentors in the field of fundraising and share your expertise with others as a mentor. No matter how long you have been in fundraising, we all have new skills to learn and successes to share. Our objective is to develop our future leadership within the field of fund raising and within the Eastern PA Chapter.

Right now, our Chapter is in the process of revamping our Mentorship program, and we want to hear from you! If you have suggestions on what type of program would support your growth as a fundraiser, let us know! Please email your thoughts and suggestions to our Chapter via email at director@afpglv.org.

With your membership to AFP Eastern PA Chapter, there are a lot of ways that you can leverage your membership to foster mentor and mentee relationships, here are just a few:

-Attend Chapter programming and events. We have a very diverse membership within our Chapter, and a great way to meet other members and built a personal advisory network is to attend our events and mixers. We recommend bringing your business card and being prepared to exchange contact information.

-Submit a Member to Member Inquiry. If a fellow member has a response for your inquiry, you can arrange a time to meet and speak further. These conversations are great introductions to potential mentors.

-Post on the discussion boards in your member portal. This is a great place to find information, share resources, and see what members are skilled in areas that you are interested in learning more about.

-Apply for the Chamberlain Scholarship. Attending an AFP Global conference will give you the opportunity to meet more fundraisers across the country and continue to establish a strong network for yourself.
