Join us as we welcome our guest speaker from Tennessee Nonprofit Network for a dynamic session, Advocacy in Action: Shaping Policy in Tennessee, featuring Andrea Hill, Chief Development and Partnerships Officer, and Tony Murchison, East Tennessee Regional Director.

Andrea and Tony will share the latest efforts from TNN to support both rural and metro nonprofits across the state. They will highlight the significant impact of the recent Advocacy Summit and Day on the Hill, explaining the strategic "why" behind these initiatives and the benefits they provide to the sector.

With advocacy remaining a cornerstone of a thriving nonprofit community, Andrea and Tony will share tools to help your organization navigate the legislative landscape, such as updates on TNN’s policy tracker and revised policy agenda, while discussing specific legislation that may impact your mission.

Andrea Hill

Andrea Hill, CFRE

Andrea is a humble servant leader, knowledge and has a "work alongside you" attitude which makes her a powerful leader in our community. She has tremendous experience in the areas of capacity building, programming, volunteer management, project and event management, fund raising, resource development. She tirelessly strives to build partnerships that will encourage impact in Tennessee. Her work fosters collaboration between various nonprofits, funders, and corporations.

Andrea has received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her Master in Public Administration from Kennesaw State University. She is certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) through the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. She holds a credential as an Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ANCP). She is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive. Andrea has 20 + years of experience in capacity building, programming, volunteer management, project and event management, fund raising, and resource development. She currently serves as the Chief Development and Partnerships Officer for Tennessee Nonprofit Network.

Andrea was awarded one of the 2016 National Urban League Young Professionals Inaugural Heroes In The Movement Award. Andrea was named one of the 2017 Top 40 Under 40 Urban Elite professionals. Andrea was also honored as the 2017 Junior League of Memphis- Provisional of the Year. Andrea was also named one of the 2018 Memphis Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 professionals, named a Superwomen in Business in 2022, named of of the Women Who Lead in Nonprofits in 2025.

Andrea currently holds various community leadership positions. Andrea is a Peer Reviewer with Standards for Excellence Institute. Andrea is the President for AFP Memphis and a Volunteer Tennessee board member. Andrea also served as the President of Directors of Volunteers In Agencies (DOVIA). 

Tony Murchinson

Tony Murchinson
East Tennessee Regional Director

Tony Murchison has recently accepted the role of East Tennessee Regional Director with Tennessee Nonprofit. In this role, he will work to provide technical assistance, training, and collaborative opportunities to all non-profit organizations from Bristol to Chattanooga. Prior to this role, Tony served as the Director of Community Partnerships at the UTK College of Social Work. Through this role, he worked to develop relationships with key partners across the state and beyond, coordinated the Social Justice Innovation Initiative grant project, and supervised the college’s Continuing Education efforts including the annual eVOLve Conference. Tony serves on the boards for Magnolia Harbor Carefarm, the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee, and the Maryville College Alumni Association. Prior to UTK, Tony worked in mental health Quality and Compliance at Helen Ross McNabb Center for nine years. Tony is happily married to his husband of 23 years, Jim Clement. They share 3 cats and 10 nieces and nephews. In his spare time, Tony likes to travel, read, write books (none published yet), hang out with friends, eat, and do craft projects.
