Responsibilities:

Position Essential Functions:

  • Oversee a portfolio of 110-125 major gift prospects and donors nationwide, with contributions starting at $10,000. Responsibilities include identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts.
  • Develop successful strategies to increase donor engagement, revenue growth, and community awareness with the Director of Development (DOD) and Chief Development Officer (CDO).
  • Create custom cultivation strategies for each person in the assigned portfolio based on the donor’s history of giving and the organization’s knowledge of that donor’s potential.
  • Provide stewardship of donors who have made or committed to make a major gift.
  • Maintain meticulous records of donor interactions, inputting information into the CRM database.
  • Secure appropriate project information, including budgets, and create proposals and solicitations that will be used to secure major gifts.
  • Plan and execute Major Donor Cultivation events as appropriate.
  • Working with the DOD and CDO, identify potential donors for the Capital Campaign and solicit gifts toward the overall campaign goal.
  • Work in a team environment to represent GDF/AVD and its mission.
  • Attend events and meetings on behalf of GDF/AVD.
  • Perform other donor activities, as required.
  • Always be aware of safety rules and procedures. Ensure that the functions of this job are done in the safest possible manner and encourage co-workers to do likewise.

Role Specific Outcomes:

  • Maintain and grow relationships with donors. Work with Leadership Team to identify organizational needs and work with donors to ensure all donor needs are met. Match donors’ philanthropic interests to the organizations’ funding needs.
  • Develop and implement a donor engagement plan to help build relationships. Act as the point of contact for the donor within the organization to address any questions or concerns that may arise.
  • Schedule meetings/appointments with donors in your region as well as other areas when travel opportunities arise. Coordinate with donors on all details for each meeting. Maintain constant contact with donors through phone calls and face-to-face engagement.
  • Meet and exceed dollar and donor visits/calls goals.
  • Maintain an active schedule of moves management within your portfolio.
  • Increase donor communications and interactions throughout the year.
  • Perform other functions as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (preferably in Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing or other related field).
  • Knowledge of planned giving techniques and vehicles.
  • 3 + years of demonstrated history of securing major gifts.
  • Strong computer skills needed to utilize research tools and implement donor cultivation plans. Experience working with CRM databases necessary.
  • Superior communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards, the MGO position is highly sensitive and requires impeccable personal and professional integrity and discretion.
  • Up to 20% travel.

Additional information:

The expected salary range for the position is $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year. The salary actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Director of Philanthropy & Special Events with the coordination, planning, and implementation of affiliate network-wide fundraising events, including but not limited to the Kinexion gala, golf outings, cocktail receptions, and special events from initial planning through post-event follow-up.

  • Assist with communication as it pertains to fundraising and events, including but not limited to phone calls and emails to donors.
  • Coordinate post-event acknowledgments and reporting.
  • Support on-site event operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
  • Represent the organization professionally with donors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
  • Keep the Executive Director of Philanthropy and the Sr. Director of Philanthropy & Special Events informed of all pertinent information.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled Individual Giving Manager to be a direct fundraiser by building and strengthening relationships with individual donors and prospects to increase philanthropic support for Peconic Land Trust.  As an integral member of the Development team, this position focuses on donor qualification, leadership-level upgrades, donor retention/reactivation and building a strong pipeline of future major gift prospects.

Reporting to the VP of Development, this position will be a trust builder and strong collaborator with exceptional listening/communication skills and a passion for connecting with and understanding donor’s needs, goals and interests to align with the Trust’s initiatives.

Some essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Fundraising Strategy and Implementation:

  • Manage an independent portfolio of 50-75 annual, mid-level and emerging major donors, with a focus on leadership-level giving and long-term relationship development.
  • Personally solicit donors and prospects for annual, project-based, and other organizational funding priorities.
  • Participate in strategies to engage and reactivate LYBUNT, SYBUNT, new, and renewing donors with potential for increased giving.
  • Conduct outreach to convert event attendees, program participants, volunteers, members, and other engaged constituents into philanthropic supporters.
  • Partner with the Donor Engagement & Stewardship Manager to ensure assigned donors receive consistent, thoughtful, and appropriate stewardship face to face, virtual and written communication.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications, program staff, and other departments as needed to support donor engagement and fundraising efforts.
  • Serve as a frontline fundraising representative at cultivation and stewardship events, donor tours, and signature Trust wide events.
  • Develop with the Major & Planned Gifts Officer a prospect strategy, donor qualification, and transition of appropriate major and planned giving prospects
  • Collaborate with program and conservation staff to translate organizational priorities into compelling donor facing opportunities and proposals.
  • Utilize our database and research tools to build proposals for current/new donors and routinely enter and update data.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, membership, alumni relations or community engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of above experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships by exercising curiosity and expressing/listening to different perspectives respectfully and collaboratively.
  • Passion for and ability to directly fundraise, solicit and cultivate donors while practicing move management.
  • Comfort initiating conversations, developing relationships, and discussing philanthropic support with donors and prospective donors.
  • Strong writing, listening, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple donor relationships, priorities, and follow-up activities.
  • Ability to use an analytical and organized approach to problem solving and workflow management.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a collaborative team member.
  • Discretion and good judgment with the ability to gain trust and confidence from donors.
  • Experience using databases, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with ability to commute to Southampton regularly.
  • Ability to travel around the east end of LI, including occasional travel to New York City, and occasional work during evenings and weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Long Island and New York City philanthropic and corporate communities a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus.
  • Knowledge of land conservation a plus.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • Hybrid position with at least 1-2 days a week in the Southampton, NY office after 90 days.
  • Full-time, exempt position working at least 35 hours per week Mon-Fri to include some evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Local travel by car regularly, NYC and Tri-state travel by train, car or ferry, along with air travel out of state when needed.

WE OFFER:

  • Starting salary $63k-$67k. Position: Assistant Director of Development, Athletics

Position Level: Mid

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director of Development for Athletics is responsible for building and managing a portfolio of leadership and major gift prospects. They will work closely with the Director of Athletics, Assistant Vice President for Development, and Director of Development for Athletics to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward annual and multi-year commitments of $25,000 or more to support Stony Brook University, with a focus on Stony Brook Athletics. They will also coordinate and manage the John Ramsey Leadership Society and will help secure matching gifts for Athletics campaigns during annual fundraising days such as Giving Day. The Assistant Director must meet annual metrics, adapt to changing priorities, and manage donor relationships effectively. 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising program in collaboration with Advancement leadership.

  • Coordinate efforts with the University Advancement team, participate in various tasks and functions, and communicate progress effectively.
  • Manage a core group of annual funds and major gift prospects, from identification to solicitation, while stewarding existing donors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time experience in fundraising, sales, events, or a related field. Experience working in higher education, non-profit, government or municipal environments, large healthcare systems, and/or related fields. Proven record of success in cultivating, soliciting, and raising funds from individual donors and/or institutions. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

The Director of Development, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital will play a key role in the fundraising efforts for Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Seatuck is seeking a Development Manager to support the implementation of our comprehensive fundraising strategy. The Manager role focuses on relationship building with donors, corporate contacts and event supporters that results in increased revenue and organizational growth. The Manager will work to meet fundraising goals through collaboration, cultivation, inspiration, and engagement. This individual will be a high-impact, high-energy, team player who is an excellent communicator, both verbally and written.   

Responsibilities:

Fundraising event and campaign support - 60%

Assist in and support the Development Director in overall fundraising operations including:

  • Planning and execution of fundraising events, donor outings and appeals.

Hofstra University seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Development to advance the University's philanthropic priorities through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects and donors. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, the Director of Development serves as a key member of the Development and Alumni Affairs team and is responsible for building a portfolio of alumni, parents, and friends capable of making significant philanthropic investments in support of Hofstra University's mission and strategic goals.
