2026 Theme: LEAD
LEAD positions fundraising as an act of leadership rooted in relationships, ethics, and impact. Building on the 2025 HELP theme (Hope, Education, Leadership, Purpose), LEAD shifts the focus from why we fundraise to how we do it well.
L – Listen
Great fundraising begins with listening. Effective fundraisers seek to understand community needs, donor values, and organizational capacity. Listening builds trust, strengthens alignment, and ensures fundraising efforts are responsive, inclusive, and grounded in real impact.
E – Engage
Fundraising is not transactional—it is relational. Engagement means inviting funders, partners, and community members into a shared mission. Strong fundraisers cultivate meaningful connections through storytelling, transparency, and ongoing communication that extends beyond a single gift.
A – Ask
The ask is an invitation to invest in impact. Ethical and confident asks are grounded in preparation, clarity, and courage. Good fundraisers align organizational needs with donor interests and present clear opportunities to make a difference.
D – Deliver Impact
Leadership in fundraising continues after the gift is made. Delivering impact means stewarding relationships, sharing outcomes, honoring commitments, and demonstrating accountability. Strong stewardship builds trust and lays the foundation for sustainable, long-term partnerships.
