Description

Keeping Ethics at the Heart of Fundraising – Doing What is Right!

As every facet of our lives becomes more data-driven, it’s important to remember the critical role of ethics in building strong relationships with your donors.  A few case studies will be presented that focus on the ethical dilemmas we face in our day-to-day philanthropic fundraising, and time will be reserved in the second half of the discussion to address your individual questions.  The speaker will be available afterward if you have further questions.

Presenter: Gary Bukowski, MA, CFRE
Associate Vice President of Development at Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center
Gary Bukowski became the Associate Vice President of Development at Sarah A. Reed Children's Center in 2015. Since then he has raised significant funds and improved the agency's development efforts in all areas: annual fund, major and planned gifts, grants, donor retention, new donor acquisition, donor relations, records management and marketing communications. Gary has over four decades of fundraising experience, including 7+ years as the first Vice President for Advancement at the Barber National Institute and 27 years as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Mercyhurst University. Gary also served 20 years as a charter member of Erie County Council District #4. He is registered with the Commonwealth to provide professional fundraising counsel and is a practicing Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1990.  Founding member of today’s AFP NWPA Chapter, which began in the late 1980s and was originally known as the Development Directors of Erie, then the Erie NSFRE Chapter.
