The Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has been serving nonprofit fundraisers in the 13 counties of Northwestern Pennsylvania for more than 25 years. We are committed to promoting philanthropy in our region and strengthening local nonprofits. We do this by empowering dedicated people like you to do their best work.
The Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of AFP has its roots in Erie, Pennsylvania when a small group of fundraisers decided to gather together to meet and share ideas on how to develop funding resources for their nonprofits. Eventually, this group joined forces with National Society of Fundraising Professionals--now the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is currently managed by a group of volunteer board of directors.
Whether you are new to the fundraising profession or a seasoned veteran, AFP provides individuals with educational and networking opportunities that help you propel your fundraising efforts to a new level.
We empower fundraising professionals and foster a strong culture of philanthropy by:
• offering innovative educational programs regularly throughout the year
• adhering to a professional Code of Ethical Standards and Donor Bill of Rights
• CFRE continuing education credits
• providing mentoring opportunities to fundraising professionals
• promoting cultural and social diversity in our membership and leadership
• celebrating philanthropy
• promoting awareness of educational programs and events in our community
• encouraging involvement through scholarship opportunities
• educating younger generations about philanthropy
• customizing training for both newer and more experienced fundraising professionals
