The Lubbock Area Chapter of AFP was founded in 1993 and represents more than 90 fundraisers in the greater Lubbock area. Our chapter represents those who raise money professionally for educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
We are a diverse group of development professionals from organizations such as Texas Tech, Lubbock Christian University, Wayland Baptist University, the major health care systems, Lubbock Area United Way, Volunteer Center of Lubbock, Community Foundation of West Texas, alumni associations, religious non-profit organizations and other health and human services agencies.
Some of our members work only in grant writing, major gifts or some other aspect of development, while
others wear a development hat along with other duties for their organization, such as Executive Directors.
The chapter meets on the second Thursday of each month to network and to learn about topics critical to the professional fundraiser including donor relations, board development, planned giving, annual giving, direct mail, special events, and professional ethics, just to name a few.
When you join the Lubbock chapter, you also become a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
