The Texas Plains Chapter of AFP was founded in 1990 and its mission is to advance philanthropy in the Texas Panhandle through education, training, and advocacy. The chapter represents more than 55+ fundraisers in the greater Panhandle area. Our chapter represents those who raise money professionally for educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
We are a diverse group of development professionals from organizations such as West Texas A&M University, Amarillo Area Foundation, Don Harrington Discovery Center, Texas Tech Health Science Center, United Way, Amarillo Symphony and many other non-profit organizations and health and human services agencies.
Some of our members work only in grant writing, major gifts or some other aspect of development, while
others wear a development hat along with other duties for their organization, such as Executive Directors.
The chapter meets on the third Thursday of each month to network and to learn about topics critical to the professional fundraiser including donor relations, board development, planned giving, annual giving, direct mail, special events, and professional ethics, just to name a few.
When you join the Texas Plains chapter, you also become a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals International which provides a wealth of information on all aspects in the fundraising field.
