Program Overview:

“Connecting and influencing as a leader is more difficult than ever in a world with increasing demands on our time, attention, expectations and resources. Finding ways to meet people where they are and getting your message through requires us to approach our agenda and priorities through the filters of our stakeholders – and often being willing to set our own aside long enough to be heard by our audience. Ken Grady is a global business and technology leader with more than 25 years of experience influencing and creating change, and connecting people with impact. In this session, we will talk about his leadership podcast ‘It’s Not Personal’, change management, and how he’s adapted his own thinking to be people-centric in the ever accelerating pace of business and the economy”

Speaker Biography:

Ken Grady (he/him)

SVP & CIO – IDEXX Laboratories

Ken has been with IDEXX since 2014 in the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Information. Ken has a portfolio of responsibilities including leading our global Information Technology (IT) organization in the strategic application and implementation of technology throughout IDEXX, helping to deliver a portfolio of capability, information, and insight that scales with and accelerates the company’s ongoing growth strategy, the customer

experience, and the tools that every IDEXXer uses on a daily basis. In addition, Ken is responsible for our Reference Labs Tech Ops, Innovation, and Development team, and our IDEXX BioAnalytics business.

Prior to IDEXX, Ken led organizations across human health, pharma, and research, most recently as CIO at New England BioLabs and as global head of business analytics and commercial IT at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics in Massachusetts, among other leadership roles. Ken has lived and worked in New England,

California, Georgia, Texas, the UK, and led teams in Europe, America, and Asia. Ken served as an active duty linguist and translator for the U.S. Army and continues his community outreach in this area as the chairman of the board for Educate Maine, and as a member of the board of Portland Ovations. He also worked the night shift as a cook at the Waffle House, and still makes a mean omelet. He studied computer engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology until they (correctly) suggested that he was insufficiently serious about his academic career at that time, but went on to graduate of the Arabic program at the Defense Language Institute.

Ken lives in an old farmhouse in Gorham, Maine with his bride of 29 years, has two children, and at any given time is host to several exchange students, a couple of dozen chickens, probably a couple of pigs, George (Georgina), a very grumpy Old English Sheepdog, and Frank (Francesca) a Saint Bernard of very little brain but with tremendous love to offer.
