Erika Lee

Erika Lee, MHA, President

Erika has been the Director of Advancement at Cornerstone VNA in Rochester, NH since 2014. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Health Management and Policy in 1998, and received her Master’s Degree in Health Administration in 2000. She has spent her entire career at various healthcare organizations including SeaCare Health Services, Elliot Health System, and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. She has over 24 years of development experience, including grant writing, fundraising, donor relations, marketing and communications, event planning, and strategic planning. Erika lives in the Seacoast area with her husband and two children, and she counts multi-tasking as one of her superpowers. When she's not working, she enjoys time on the lake, playing hockey, and fostering rescue pups through Mary’s Dogs Rescue & Adoption.

Becky Kates

Becky Kates, President-Elect

Becky, of Becky Kates Development Consulting, has been fundraising since she was six years old as a Girl Scout, and never really stopped. That experience eventually led her to pursue a career in nonprofit development 20 years ago and discovered she has a passion for fundraising, grant writing, strategy, and databases. She has worked in development for small local nonprofits and statewide organizations in both media and education fields, and as Development Director in both the arts and healthcare fields. With this wide background of experience, she opened her own consulting firm in 2023 to share her expertise with even more organizations to have a greater impact on her community. She is an ambassador for the Portsmouth Chamber Collective, a volunteer leader of two troops and serves as a Service Team Manager for Girl Scouts. She has been the AFP-NNE conference co-chair for more years than she can remember. She does not sleep. 

Melissa Howard

Melissa Howard, MBA, Immediate Past-President

Melissa is the Director of Donor Relations for Granite VNA in Concord, New Hampshire. She is responsible for all fundraising operations for the Agency. She loves working with donors to match them with the causes about which they are most passionate.    

Melissa lives in Bow, NH with her husband and son and is honored to serve on the board of AFP-NNE.  She looks forward to connecting with fellow members at an upcoming AFP-NNE event or conference.

Lee Germeroth, Treasurer

Lee founded Germeroth Consulting & Creative in 2016 with the mission to develop and implement creative solutions and content for businesses and organizations. Lee has worked in the marketing industry for over 10 years, providing marketing services to a wide range of organizations from small brick and mortar businesses to large national and international companies, and non-profits. He draws upon his diverse background experience to find the best solution for organizational challenges both large and small. He lives in Dover, NH, and when he isn't in front of a computer developing marketing strategies and tactics, he loves to explore the outdoors both locally and abroad, always with a camera in tow.

Jack Segal, Secretary

An experienced fundraiser, Jack works with nonprofits and social causes to expand their impact by developing fundraising programs and strategic partnerships. Throughout his career, Jack has worked in capital campaign planning, major gift solicitations, annual giving, events, digital fundraising, and institutional partnerships. As a Senior Director at CCS Fundraising, Jack partners with clients to study campaign feasibility, create individualized fundraising strategies, and manage campaign operations.
 
Jack joined CCS after extensive work with political candidates and in government offices. During his time in politics, Jack developed fundraising strategies for dozens of candidates and political committees in California, Illinois, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Washington.

Keith Barrett, Member-at-Large

Originally from Andover, New Hampshire, Keith studied Music Education at the University of New Hampshire and Berklee College of Music, earning a BME. Keith joined Proctor Academy's Development team in 1991 and held a number of roles before becoming Director of Development. Keith retired in 2024 after more than 30 years at Proctor Academy and now runs KB Consulting. His hobbies and interests include music, sports and family. Keith lives in East Andover, NH with his family.

Anna Dundas, CRFE, MA, Member-at-Large

As the Director of Development for Northeast Wilderness Trust, Anna brings a passion for connecting with people and building frameworks of support to sustain wilderness conservation in the region. With a background in music education and nonprofit development, she has served on the fundraising teams of Shelburne Farms and Palm Beach Opera. Anna holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Arts in Art and Culture Management from the University of Denver. Home in Vermont with her two dogs, Dublin and Echo, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, cycling, paddleboarding, and reading.

Kevin Harte, CFRE, MBA, Member-at-Large

Kevin is the Vice President of Advancement at Crotched Mountain Foundation where he has served for thirty-seven years, the past ten of which in his current position. Kevin earned his Bachelor of Technology in Education degree from Thomond College, Limerick, Ireland in 1988, and his MBA from Plymouth State University in 2002. His life’s passion is to expand opportunities for people of all abilities. A resident of Jaffrey, NH, Kevin also spends much of his time wandering the National Seashore near his home in Provincetown, MA.

Ian Tovell, Member-at-Large

Ian is the Director of Development at Ketcha Outdoors in Scarborough, ME. Prior to his current role, he served as the Development and Marketing Director for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine. Ian graduated from the University of Vermont with a Business and Economics degree and from Southern New Hampshire University with an MBA in Marketing. He loves helping businesses and nonprofit organizations improve how they utilize social media. In his spare time, Ian can be found running, or chasing his two young sons with his wife Paige.

Danielle Zimmerman, Member-at-Large

Danielle serves as Co-Director and Communications & Development Director at Smokey House Center in Danby, Vermont, where she leads strategic fundraising initiatives, grant writing, donor relations, and narrative storytelling to deepen community engagement and advance organizational impact. She has played a key role in expanding philanthropic support, cultivating meaningful partnerships with local stakeholders, and elevating the organization’s visibility across the region.

Danielle brings a diverse background in nonprofit development, with experience spanning film and television, corporate media, and community-based organizations. She is deeply passionate about empowering youth and communities to create meaningful, lasting change.

Danielle lives in Rupert, Vermont with her partner and teenage daughter. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys fiber arts and reading, and can often be found hiking on the Long Trail.
