Join AFP Alabama for our December Chapter Meeting with Birgit Smith-Burton, incoming Chair for the AFP Global Board of Directors and Executive Director of AADO (the African American Development Officers Network), who will share her vision for the future of AFP, her thoughts on the direction of our profession, and how this impacts all of us who give so much to benefit the nonprofits we serve each day.Birgit Smith-Burton has been a member of AFP for 32 years, joining when it was the National Society of Fundraising Professionals (NSFRE) and has worked in fundraising for over 35 years. This year, Birgit marks her 10th year on the AFP Global Board and will step into the role of Board Chair on January 1, 2023 as the first African American woman in AFP's 62 year history.
