Chamberlain Scholarship Program

Each year, AFP International offers the Chamberlain Scholarship Program to assist AFP members who have never before attended an AFP International Conference. Each chapter is invited to select one (1) Chamberlain Scholar to represent their chapter at AFP ICON.

Our 2024 scholar attended AFP ICON 2024 on April 7-9, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as a representative of the Alabama Chapter.  In addition to conference registration, the Chamberlain Scholar received a $750 stipend to assist with travel and lodging expenses.

Requirements to be considered and once selected:

  • Must be employed as a fundraising professional or an executive director with a substantial amount of time devoted to fundraising.

  • Must be willing to join one (1) of the AFP Alabama chapter committees and actively participate.

  • Candidate must not have ever attended an AFP or NSFRE International Conference on Fundraising as a registered participant (unless as a member of the Conference Host Committee) and must be enthusiastic to attend the full conference as scheduled.

  • Candidate must be willing to share their AFP ICON experience with the chapter after the conference has concluded.


Preference will be given to applicants who are currently active and involved with the AFP Alabama Chapter.
