Speed Mentoring with AFP GLAC (Professional Development Session)
Registration and Coffee Fellowship begin at 9 AM
When: Feb 11, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 11:45AM (PT)
Have you ever desired ten minutes with a tenured development leader to talk about your career, job interests or challenges, or a possible mentor relationship? New entrants and those early in their development careers are invited to attend AFP-GLAC's first Speed Mentoring Program. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with up to six experienced development professionals for twelve-minute sessions. It's a wonderful way to network, explore career or fundraising specific advice, and meet several leading development professionals in a short period. Areas of Interest to select from during the registration process next week include Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Prospect Research, to specific types of philanthropy (health care, faith based, etc.).
Intermediate and more experienced development professionals are also invited to attend and participate in open round table discussions on board development, data analytics, career development, and major gifts. This event will precede the luncheon and keynote speaker.
Mentees and other attendees are asked to sign up by Monday, February 3 and indicate the three areas of interest so that matches can be made for the highest value. Space is limited. Mentees should prepare questions to ask mentors.
Please contact Connie Maguire, CFRE, event organizer, at cmaguire@netzelgrigsby.com for questions regarding this program.
Don’t Go it Alone! The Unique Role of Coaches and Mentors in Your Personal and Fundraising Success
Fundraising is a challenging profession. Lofty goals, tight deadlines, limited resources and high personal expectations. It is often said that relationship-building is the key to achieving our fundraising goals. We are experts at how to build relationships with donors to support and grow our organizations. But what about the relationships that support us and help us grow?
David Factor, President and CEO of Executive Service Corps of Southern California, is an advocate for increasing access to coaching and mentoring in the non-profit world. David will explain the difference between coaching and mentoring and how you can make the most of these relationships to help you address challenges, reduce the risk of burnout, and increase your well-being and fundraising success.
Attend this luncheon to explore another resource for becoming even more successful as a fundraiser, ultimately benefiting your donors, your organization, and yourself.
