Description

In recent years, the philanthropic sector has focused deeply on diversity, equity, and inclusion.  This commitment has resulted in shifts in priorities, expectations, partnerships, and outcomes.  In this interactive panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to more deeply understand why and how the sector is prioritizing DEI work. They will also consider ways that their own institutions might further commit to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Jonathan Zur, President & CEO of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, will guide a conversation featuring local foundation leaders who will share their own journeys, challenges, and recommendations. Jonathan Zur is President & CEO of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC).  Under his leadership, VCIC increased the number of programs delivered annually by 3,000%, and the organization has been recognized locally and nationally for its effectiveness.  An experienced facilitator and consultant on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Jonathan was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Commonwealth Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, formed in the aftermath of the tragedy in Charlottesville in August 2017.
