Child Focus seeks a highly experienced, mission-connected Major Gifts Officer (MGO) to build and steward meaningful philanthropic partnerships that directly advance outcomes for children and families.
The Major Gifts Officer will manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, cultivate new relationships, and collaborate closely with executive leadership to secure transformational philanthropic support. This position plays a critical role in strengthening Child Focus’s long-term sustainability and expanding our impact across the communities we serve.

Salary:     
$90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

Qualifications     

Required
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in major gifts fundraising, or related development roles.
Alignment with Child Focus’s mission and a commitment to equity and child well-being.
Exceptional interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership, board members, and colleagues.
Adept at navigating complex, emotionally grounded mission work with professionalism and empathy.
Preferred
Experience with fundraising in child welfare,
Familiarity with foster care programs or court-involved systems.
Knowledge of New Jersey’s philanthropic landscape.

The Donor Cultivation Manager’s primary role will be to work with our Resource Development team to achieve our fundraising objectives and annual financial goal. This position will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective donors. This includes stewarding current donors; working towards elevating giving levels, such as major gifts, planned giving options, and special campaigns; and developing long-lasting relationships.

Salary:     
This position is full-time hybrid with a starting salary range of $64,000 to $78,000, and a comprehensive benefits plan. Preference given to candidates who have experience in Greater Mercer County.

Qualifications     

Must have 5+ years fundraising experience for a nonprofit organization, where you cultivated and maintained a strong portfolio of donors. A proven history of strategic asks and soliciting gifts with successful outcomes, including contributions of $1,000 or more. Strong strategic development skills to create and implement comprehensive strategies for donor engagement, retention, and upgrades across giving levels (major gifts, planned giving, etc), along with an ability to build rapport with donors and create and nurture solid, ongoing relationships.
