In order to participate in the Mentorship Program, interested individuals must first meet the following minimum requirements:
Qualifications:
Mentor
- A minimum of five (5) years experience as a full-time development professional
- A member in good standing of the local AFP Chapter throughout the mentorship program commitment
- Has exhibited a measurable level of success in the field of professional resource development
- Has at least one area of fundraising practice of which they command solid knowledge. Examples include annual giving, capital campaigns, grant writing, planned giving, etc.
- Possess a strong desire to further the knowledge base of other development professionals in our community
- Can commit a minimum of one (1) hour a month to mentor a fellow professional
Mentee
- A member in good standing of the local AFP Chapter at the time of application and throughout the mentorship program commitment
- Employed in current position as a full-time fundraising professional
- Possess a strong commitment to further professional development as a fundraiser
- Can commit to a minimum of one (1) hour a month to the mentorship program
