National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is a special day set aside to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy -- and those people active in the philanthropic community. National Philanthropy Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible. First held in 1986, NPD celebrates the endless daily contributions individuals and organizations across the world make to countless causes and missions.

Please note: All honorees will be recognized equally at our awards program. This adjustment to Polk's traditional program reflects AF P's commitment to the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in the philanthropic sector.

Nomination Information

Each year we encourage the Polk County community to nominate one (1) Individual of the Year and/or one (1) Corporation of the Year.  These honorees support organizations through volunteerism and/or philanthropic support. Each nominee will be highlighted at the event along with the nominating organization.

Nominations are due Friday, Sept. 15.

Before nominating, please ensure that:

  1. You have invited your nominee(s) to the Nov. 14 breakfast event and received their RSVP.
  2. You have at least five (5) high-quality photos of your nominee(s) supporting your organization.
