Prospect Research

Associated with  AFP CA, Yosemite Chapter
Research can play a vital role as we seek to find donors with the capacity, affinity, and inclination to support the organizations we serve. But how do we know where to start looking? And what resources are available to help with our search?

Join us at noon September 7 for a Lunch and Learn as prospect research analyst Jonathan Partridge discusses the role that research can play in development as well as tips and tricks for finding the needles in the haystack of our organization’s donor pool.

Jonathan Partridge serves as the Director of Prospect Management and Research for University of the Pacific. Prior to working at Pacific, Jonathan spent a combined three and a half years working in prospect research analyst roles at California State University, Stanislaus and UC Santa Cruz. He also assisted refugees and other survivors of conflict and persecution as the former Volunteer and Donations Coordinator for the International Rescue Committee in Turlock.

Jonathan came to the world of prospect research via journalism, spending more than a decade working as a reporter and editor for community newspapers in Tracy, Patterson and Gilroy. He seeks to share his passion for development research as a board member and marketing chair for the California Advancement Researchers Association. A Turlock High School alum, Jonathan holds a B.A. in Communication-Print Media from Wheaton College in Illinois and an M.A. in Specialized Journalism from the University of Southern California.

In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys reading and hiking. He is a board member and cofounder of Turlock Community Gardens and is actively involved with the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin, serving as co-chair of the diocesan immigration commission (SJRAISE). He is passionate about uplifting the art and science of donor research with the aim of bettering the Central Valley.
