Nikkia Johnson is a nonprofit development and operations professional, currently working as a Senior Development Officer for Legal Aid Justice Center. Her career over the past 8 years has been centered on nonprofit management and development, relationship building, and lifting up marginalized communities. Born and raised in Queens, NY, Nikkia’s upbringing and experience in direct service and advocacy informs her commitment to advancing philanthropy rooted in equity and social justice.
Nikkia is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders and is involved in many community organizations and mentorship groups. She currently serves on the board and programs committee for Virginia Association of Fundraising Executives and ART 180, and is also an AFP Central VA Inclusive Fundraising Fellow. Her biggest hobbies are dancing, cooking, and (in non-pandemic times) traveling. Nikkia graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in sociology.
