Join us this October for an engaging donor panel discussion moderated by the amazing Jessica Schacht, VP of Community Engagement at Brooks Rehabilitation.

This panel features community leaders including:

  • Susan Towler | Executive Director | Florida Blue Foundation

Panelists will share insights on why they give, how they view nonprofit partnerships, and what inspires their philanthropy. Whether you’re new to fundraising or a seasoned professional, you’ll walk away with practical takeaways and fresh perspectives to strengthen your donor relationships. Enjoy breakfast and networking starting at 8:30 AM, followed by the panel at 9:00 AM.

Speaker Bios: 

Jessica Schacht (Shock-ed or SH-AH-K-T) serves as the Vice President of Community Engagement at Brooks Rehabilitation where she works with the low or no cost community programs to provide continuous rehabilitative services for all individuals with a differing ability. As a certified athletic trainer she understands the importance of rehabilitative services and is pleased to be able to work with the community programs and services that Brooks provides to the communities surrounding Jacksonville, Daytona, Orlando, Gainesville, Ocala, and Tampa. Jessica’s responsibilities also include leading the Brooks Foundation and conducting the Community Health Needs Assessment. Prior to joining Brooks, Jessica was the Senior Director of Development for UF Health Jacksonville and the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville. During her tenure with UF Health she realized her love of working with vulnerable populations and non-profit organizations. She currently serves as a board member of WeCare Jacksonville and on the committees serving: the UF Health Jacksonville Turkey Trot for Brain Injury Awareness, A Night for Heroes gala to benefit UF Health, and is a proud member of member of Leadership Florida Connect 10 class, “The Most Inquisitive and Best Class” of Leadership Jacksonville, 2018 and the UNF Alumni Association. Jessica holds dual degrees from the University of North Florida – a Master’s of Business Administration in International Business and a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. She is passionate about ensuring water safety for all and continues to coach swimmers at The Bolles School. As a fun fact, Jessica worked in professional sports for 10 years. She had the pleasure of working with professional golf tournaments, creating tracking technology for marathons, and masterminding the scoring system for the CrossFit Games. Her most favorite blessing is spending time with her family - Mark, Lilly and Kade.

Emily Bellock is currently the Senior Director of Community Outreach at the PGA TOUR. Emily has held this position since April 2022 and oversees THE PLAYERS’ community impact programming and nonprofit partnerships.  She also manages the Championship’s charitable giving strategy and is focused on using this platform to drive impact and awareness in the community. Over the past 40-plus years, THE PLAYERS has generated more than $120 million to support non-profit organizations in communities within the five-county area (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties). Prior to THE PLAYERS, Emily worked for fifteen years in various roles at the PGA TOUR, including PGA TOUR Tournament Business Affairs, Tournament Activation + Outreach and Corporate Partnerships. Most recently, Emily was an account director in Corporate Partnerships where she managed a business portfolio of PGA TOUR Title Sponsorships and Official Marketing Partnerships. A native of Hartford, CT, Emily graduated from Boston College with a degree in Communications and the University of Florida with a MBA. Emily volunteers with various community groups and is a board member for Thrive Scholars and the LJD Jewish Family and Community Services.

Max Glober is the Vice President of Marketing at First Coast Energy, LLP. Active in his community, he previously served as a member of the Jacksonville Historical Preservation Commission. Glober earned his bachelor’s degree in government from the College of William and Mary and his master’s degree in business administration and juris doctor from the University of South Carolina.

Susan B. Towler is executive director of the Florida Blue Foundation the philanthropic
affiliate of Florida Blue. She is also executive director of corporate social responsibility
(CSR) for Florida Blue and has responsibility for the company’s philanthropic strategy.
Towler serves on the board of directors for several nonprofits including the Children’s
Movement of Florida, Florida Humanities, and the Jacksonville Public Education Fund.
Towler holds a Bachelor of Science in public relations from the University of Florida.
She lives in Jacksonville with husband Jim and they have one daughter, Emma, who is in
law school at UF.
