Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy

The Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award recognizes an individual or group of young people in the indicated age category in Manitoba who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to their community through development of charitable programs, volunteering and leadership in philanthropic activities and through direct financial support. Youth must be under 18 until the November Luncheon.

Emerging Leader in Philanthropy

The Emerging Leader in Philanthropy Award recognizes an individual or group of people new to the philanthropic sector in Manitoba who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to their community through the development of charitable programs, volunteering and leadership in philanthropic activities including direct financial support.

Outstanding Professional Fundraiser

The Outstanding Professional Fundraiser Award recognizes a fundraising professional in Manitoba who demonstrates outstanding commitment to the profession through leadership in the fundraising community as well as in their organization. This fundraiser does not only exceed at their job but gives back to the profession through their leadership and advancement of the profession. Nominee must be a member of AFP in good standing.

Outstanding Philanthropist

The Outstanding Philanthropist award is presented to an individual or family residing in Manitoba with a proven record of philanthropy that has impacted Manitoba. This person or family has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a community, regional or province wide level.  Emphasis is on impact, not amounts given, however direct financial support is considered.

Outstanding Foundation or Philanthropic Group (previously part of Outstanding Service Group)

The Outstanding Foundation or Philanthropic Group Award is presented to a foundation or volunteer group in Manitoba who has demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of philanthropy and exceptional leadership in coordinating groups of volunteers and donors for fundraising projects for one or more charities. Neither the foundation, volunteer group, or the individual members or volunteers with the group receive remuneration for their work in fundraising.

Outstanding Corporation (previously Outstanding Contributions to Philanthropy - over and under 100 employees)

The Outstanding Corporation Award recognizes any company in Manitoba that demonstrates outstanding commitment to philanthropy and the community.  They offer financial support, encouragement and motivation of others to take on leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement. Charitable foundations that provide financial and other support to communities are excluded from this category, but donations made through charitable foundations may be included in the nomination.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser

The Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award is presented to an individual or family residing in Manitoba who has demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of philanthropy and exceptional leadership skills in coordinating groups of volunteers and donors for major fundraising projects for more than one not-for-profit organization. As a volunteer, there is no remuneration for this individual or family’s work in fundraising.

NOTE: Re-submissions from previous year’s nominations will be accepted. It is the responsibility of the applicant to inform the Awards Committee Chair of the intent to re-submit and whether or not the application will be updated or re-submitted in the original format.
