Hospice Kingston is a not-for-profit organization that arranges and provides community hospice care services in Kingston and surrounding area to people with a life-limiting illness and their families and caregivers at no cost. Working closely with healthcare professionals and trained volunteers to provide supportive care in client’s homes, hospitals, long-term-care homes, retirement homes and palliative care units, Hospice Kingston delivers a wide range of supportive programs. Care includes physical, psychosocial, spiritual and practical support so that clients and their loved ones can live on their own terms. Hospice Kingston is realizing its long-term vison of building a 10-bed Hospice Residence & Palliative Care Centre for our community.

Reporting to the Manager of Resource Development and Communications, the Development Officer is responsible for establishing a successful, comprehensive fund development program for Hospice Kingston. The successful candidate will maintain existing and build new strong, donor relationships with individuals, current and prospective donors, businesses, foundations, and other sources through effective communications, fundraising and stewardship strategies with the overall goal to inspire donors into sustained giving through shared values and goals.

Relationship Manager, Development & Stewardship

Reporting to the Associate Director, Development and Alumni Engagement, and as a member of the Smith School of Business Development and Alumni Engagement Team (D&AE), the Relationship Manager (RM), Development & Stewardship, is responsible for managing a pool of major gift donors in stewardship, and providing strategic support and overall coordination for the fundraising, stewardship and development activities carried out by D&AE. Duties include liaising with the Dean, Associate Deans, Executive Director, Vice-Principal (Advancement), Development staff, the Office of Advancement and the broader University community to formulate and implement strategies compatible with a very diverse fundraising environment. The RM will develop, nurture, and maintain relationships and brings strategic experience gained from working in a progressive fundraising and volunteer driven environment to support individuals, programs and projects that serve to maximize donor support and stewardship.

Reporting to the Foundation Board of Directors through the Chair, the CEO will collaborate closely with Gallery colleagues and leadership volunteers to cultivate private and corporate support in Canada and abroad. Based in Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal, candidates for this position will preferably have working facility with both English and French.
