IDEA Cohort

IDEA Cohort

The IDEA Cohort is designed to provide a growth opportunity for those doing fundraising work (paid or volunteer) in our community and who are committed to IDEA principles. The first year of the Cohort, launched in summer 2022, served 5 people.

The 2024 Cohort will serve up to 6 people. First year members receive an AFP membership and access to all AFP South Sound programs at no cost, in addition to other benefits, outlined below.

Members of the Cohort are invited to continue for a second year, with membership and program benefits at 50%, to support their continued involvement and access to AFP membership, programs, and networking.

The Cohort was created to:

  • Identify and engage diverse voices within the broader nonprofit community

  • Increase access to fundraising training and networking opportunities by removing common barriers

  • Provide networking and mentoring opportunities to Cohort members

  • Empower members to develop, utilize, and share their talents and passion to benefit our community

Selection priority will be given to people or organizations who have historically been excluded from the fundraising field including people of color, LGBTIQ+ people, people with disabilities, and people with other marginalized identities.

If you think you are a good fit for this program, or know someone who might be, feel free to share this information. We encourage people who are not current members of AFP South Sound or other fundraising organizations to apply.

Want to learn more about the IDEA Cohort? Plan to attend an info session in September, hosted by the IDEA Committee. The meeting will be recorded and shared with those who can’t attend in person. Watch the AFP South Sound Newsletter for more information, or email Jill Rose, IDEA Committee Chair, to be added to a notification list.
