Greetings fellow AFP members, prospective AFP members, and community partners!
I am very proud and excited to be a part of the Indian River Chapter of. I joined AFP in 2010 when I began working at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River Co. Never did I think that 14 years later I would be the president of this exceptional Ten Star Chapter. These are certainly big shoes to fill!
This year our focus is on “practical magic,” or in other words, bringing the basics and best practices of our chosen profession to new fundraisers, and a refresher and opportunity for seasoned fundraisers to share their expertise. You will enjoy this year’s professional development offerings so bring a board member and a friend! There is something for everyone and an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals.
Finally, I would like to promote our online calendar as the official go-to site for sharing fundraising events so nonprofits don not double-book. As a seasonal community, we have a finite number of weeks to get donors to our events, so let’s coordinate as best we can so we are all successful. We are blessed to live and work in such a philanthropic community so let’s make sure we showcase our agencies to the fullest!
