Mentors Needed:

We are looking for volunteers to serve as mentors to Fellows over the next year. As a mentor we are asking you to commit to the following:

Networking Support. Attend monthly luncheons and programs with your Fellow to encourage connection with other professionals in the industry. Facilitate introductions to relevant contacts within the AFP community and the broader fundraising field.

Regular Meetings and Communication. Schedule regular check-ins to discuss progress, challenges, and successes. Be accessible and responsive to the fellow's questions, concerns, and requests for guidance.

Share Knowledge and Experience. Provide insights into the fundraising profession, sharing personal experiences and lessons learned. Offer guidance on best practices, industry trends, and effective fundraising strategies.

Celebrate Achievements. Acknowledge and celebrate the Fellow's accomplishments, both big and small. Encourage a positive mindset and a sense of pride in their professional development.

If you are interested in serving as a mentor please email Leslie Bowles at lesliebowles10@gmail.com by December 29.

A learning circle for new fundraisers.

AFP Indiana Chapter's objective is to offer our educational resources and the collective professional expertise of our diverse membership - in accessible and user-friendly formats - to assist individuals in building communities through philanthropy as well as building professional fundraising skills.

The Fellows Program is an outreach initiative of AFP Indiana Chapter created to build awareness of educational and professional resources. Individuals who have been in the profession for five years or less, including those who have recently transitioned to fundraising from other professions, are encouraged to take advantage of the program's offerings. The Fellows Program strives to identify those participants who might need access to such opportunities or resources outside the program.

This idea reflects AFP Indiana Chapter's commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA), and is offered to the public with a preference for individuals working for nonprofit organizations in metropolitan Indiana who identify as people of color, LGBTQ+, and/or as having a disability.

Applications for the 2024 Fellows Program is now closed.
