About Our Chapter

For more than 60 years, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has been the standard-bearer for professionalism in fundraising, empowering individuals and organizations to practice ethical fundraising through professional education, networking, research, and advocacy. AFP advances philanthropy through its 27,000 members in more than 240 chapters around the world.

Locally, the Central New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-CNY) has more than 80 members, representing a variety of nonprofit organizations. AFP-CNY strives to enhance philanthropy and volunteerism through a series of programs designed to benefit all those who lead, serve, and support non-profit institutions. Our Chapter offers networking, education, and training, providing resources, and other professional development opportunities for our members. Check out our Chapter's events calendar for a schedule of what's happening and where!

Our Chapter is proud to have earned the 2023 Ten Star Award. This award honors Chapters for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy.

Diversity Statement

Just as you are.
We strive to value each of you just as you are. Our diversity is our strength. No matter your race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, size, physical or mental abilities, we will work to ensure that you feel included and welcome. Your input is important in helping us reach and understand the diverse communities that we serve.

Our Chapter is proud to have earned the 2023 IDEA Champion Designation for outstanding achievements and dedication to increasing inclusion by seeking, embracing, and engaging diverse individuals, groups and organizations with a broad representation of experiences, perspectives, thoughts and cultures within the fundraising profession.
