Make-A-Wish Central New York seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative, seasoned non-profit special event professional with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high profile fund raising special events while engaging and motivating volunteers in the process.
The Special Event Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing events that support the organization’s mission and fundraising goals. This role includes working closely with team members, stakeholders, and volunteers to ensure successful event outcomes.
Qualified applicants will have a demonstrated ability to set strategic direction, solicit corporate support, achieve/exceed event revenue goals, and manage special event volunteers and interns. Must have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks, demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people, manage stressful situations, and make sound decisions in a quick timeframe. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficiency with Salesforce or other donor management database is required along with some travel.

Candidates must have a minimum of five years demonstrated success in fund development and at least two years of supervisory experience. BA/BS is required.
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 DOE, generous time off policy, health insurance, retirement plan.
