    Location: Convivium Urban Farmstead, 2811 Jackson Street, Dubuque
     
    We will host a “speed networking” event from 4 – 5 p.m. Come meet and get to know other members and prospective members!  Those who attend the “speed networking” event will receive an additional drink ticket.
     
    Heavy appetizers and a drink will be provided to all members.  We look forward to seeing you July 11!
  • AFP - GTS Chapter Partnership Grant Scholarship Opportunity

    AFP Greater Tri-State Chapter (AFP - GTS) is pleased to announce the Chapter Partnership Grant scholarship opportunity.

    First, thank you to those who contributed to Be the Cause campaign in 2018. Because of your contributions, we have an opportunity, as a chapter, to offer a scholarship that will pay for one young professional membership. The scholarship will cover both the national membership dues and the chapter dues for one professional fundraiser (a value of $95) who is 30 years of age or younger (young professional membership criteria set by AFP Global) for one year.

    A scholarship recipient will be selected at the May Board meeting and will be notified by Monday, June 3.

  • ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS GREATER TRI-STATE CHAPTER HONORED AS TEN STAR CHAPTER

    The Association of Fundraising Professionals  Greater Tri-State Chapter (AFP-GTS) has been named a 2019 Ten Star Chapter.

    Every year, AFP, the largest association of professional fundraisers in the world, honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy. Just one-third of all AFP chapters are named Ten Star Chapters, so the AFP Greater Tri-State Chapter is one of a select group of chapters to earn this honor.

    Amy Schauer, AFP Greater Tri-State Chapter President and Executive Director of Development at Stonehill Franciscan Services, states, “It is a great honor for our AFP chapter to receive the Ten Star designation. Our local AFP Board and members strive to elevate the knowledge and experience of professional fundraisers in our area so we are equipped with best practices of ethical fundraising. Our members serve many noble causes that impact the community and are humbled to work with many generous philanthropists who change lives every day.”

    Ten Star Chapters are recognized at the AFP International Conference on Fundraising (ICON). Chapters also earn the privilege of displaying the Ten Star logo on their website, newsletters and stationary.

    Criteria for the award are determined by AFP International Headquarters. A list of several goals is published annually, and chapters must accomplish 10 of these goals during the year and submit a nomination form for verification to be honored.
