 AFP Long Island  2021

Nominations Are Now Open for AFPLI 2022  Board of Directors

- An Open Letter from Matt Campo -

As Immediate Past President, it is my pleasure to serve as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the 2022 Slate of Officers and Board of Directors of AFPLI.

As a member of AFPLI, I hope you consider your participation an investment in your professional future.  AFP has a longstanding history on Long Island as being “the voice of philanthropy,” and you are one of those voices. If you are interested in shaping the future of AFPLI and making your voice heard, please consider putting your name forth for consideration as a 2021 board member.  If you know of someone who is an appropriate candidate and has the desire to serve, please submit an application on their behalf.

Attached is a link to the Application for Nomination.   Please complete the application and return as soon as possible. Please feel free to self-nominate (we strongly encourage this) if you believe that furthering philanthropy on Long Island is important to you. The deadline for nominations is November 30, 2021.

Board members are elected to serve a one-year term. AFP Board service provides the opportunity to apply leadership skills, develop relationships with other talented professionals, and expand as a fundraiser. We invite you, or your nominee to become personally involved and continue this proud tradition.   Please make note of the board responsibilities (attached.)

The Nominating Committee is guided by the following criteria:

  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of AFP
  • Current AFPLI membership and the acceptance of the Board responsibility statement
  • Regular attendance at Board Meetings
  • Commitment to participate in a standing or ad hoc committee of the Board
  • Active participation in educational events and fundraising forums
  • Commitment of a leadership contribution (minimum $100) to the AFP Foundation and our local Chapter.

On behalf of the Nominating Committee, I look forward to receiving your application.  (Please note that there are a limited number of board positions available and that an application does not guarantee nomination to the Board.)

Sincerely,

Matthew Campo
