"The pandemic hit while I was in the midst of moving to Portland. COVID closures and budget cuts led me to several months of unemployment in a city that I didn’t yet have connections in. The scholarships from AFP made it possible for me to continue staying relevant through learning, conversations with nonprofit professionals in the region, and of course, networking.
