Bio

I have decades of experience in trade associations and working in several levels of government, advocacy and lobbying at all levels, government relations, regulation, ordinance, and statutory development, legislative development, program development, policy/platform development, procedures, and non-profit fundraising.  Since 2021, I've been a full-time Senior Manager, Grants and Charter Development: writing grants to support charter schools across the Western U.S. in NV, AZ, ID, CA, CO, and WY.  I also develop audit-compliant Grant policies and procedures that comply with the CFR Uniform Grant Guidance and state audit guidance. In 2024, I also freelanced as a grant writer for nonprofits in CA, UT, and FL, supporting causes ranging from veterans' services to homelessness and housing.  I have been a newsletter editor and on boards including the ASPA (American Society for Public Administration), on the Board of an alumni service fraternity (Alpha Omicron Pi), and am currently on the Board of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals as Vice President Membership (2026 elect) and on the AFP Working Caregivers Group.

Over twenty years working in government, including advocacy and lobbying, legislative development, writing and editing bill drafts and amendments, and policy/legislative platform messaging. From that, I have significant experience researching, writing, and reviewing documents and whitepapers, as well as creating ad content, publications, and campaigns. I also maintain website content and organize fundraising events as a volunteer. Outside of work, I am married, have two teenagers, and two rescue dogs.  I stay active—hiking, biking, cooking, and volunteering at my kids’ schools and sports activities.
