A Virginian by birth, I live just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Shenandoah Valley and currently serve a Major Gifts Officer for Augusta Health Foundation, the charitable arm of Augusta Health, a nonprofit, independent, community-owned health system. I grew up in Charlottesville and graduated with an English Major/ Women's Studies Minor from UVA. My first job out of college was for a domestic and sexual violence program outside of Glacier National Park in Montana. I've worked for nonprofits for thirty years, and the last ten have been in fundraising and development.
I'm a current student at James Madison University, and am enrolled in the MPA -Nonprofit Management program.
When I'm not working or studying, I love backpacking, skiing, lifting heavy weights, knitting, and cooking food slowly. I have a son enrolled at UVM in Burlington, VT, a daughter in high school, a husband who is a land surveyor and small business owner, and crazy-smart border collie/aussie mix named Tyro.
