Recently, chosen as the Executiver Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Rising Ground, Inc. Since 1831, Rising Ground (formerly Leake and Watts) has served the children of The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Westchester.  Aldervan oversees the acquisition and retention of the agencies $130,000 budget from the government, foundation, corporate and individual sources. He also is responsible for marketing and volunteers for the agency,

Previously as the Director of the Advancement, he served as the point person leading the Police Athletic Leagues non-event individual fundraising initiatives. These include direct mail, major gifts, board giving, and planned giving. He also oversaw corporate giving, marketing and volunteer programs at PAL. Aldervan also worked with  PAL’s senior staff providing support and structure to their development and marketing activities.
 
Aldervan is an Adjunct Professor at NYU Heyman Center in the division of Professional Studies.  He teaches courses that combine his love of technology and fundraising. For five years, he served as the Associate Director of Development for the New York Foundling. He has also worked with The Partnership for New York, Arts Connection, the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, and the New York City Administration for Child Welfare. For six years he served on the Board of the New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

He has an MFA specializing in Development and Marketing from Virginia Tech and a BA from Rhodes College in International Relations specializing in uses of Guerilla Warfare. When not fundraising for PAL, he can be found raising the roof as a saloon singer in and around New York City.
