Social Styles Workshop
Presented by Victoria Armstrong
During the Mentorship Session, you will gain knowledge about four different social styles and determine which style is dominant for you. You will also learn how to communicate effectively with individuals operating from each of these various styles. Additionally, you will understand the concept of versatility and how it impacts your ability to relate to all social styles. Finally, you will learn about the strategies that successful leaders use to adapt their behavior and social style to build successful relationships and ultimately reach their fundraising goals.

Generative AI in Canva and Adobe's New Capabilities

Generative AI is more than just large language models like Chat GPT. Adobe PhotoShop's new beta version and Adobe Express have generative AI capabilities. Adobe has also launched Firefly, which uses text prompts to create images and text effects. Canva has generative AI capabilities as well. People working in communications should at least have a basic understanding of what these platforms can do, even if you don't work in them every day.

Victoria Armstrong is Co-Owner of Award Winning Film Company - 4thFLR Creative Agency and Founder of Curate for Women Who Work. She has an
extensive background in marketing, communications, and film production. She is a graduate of Southern University and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Cohort.
Victoria uses film to highlight women as they explore their professional journeys and how that intersects with their passions. She often writes and speaks about women leading with emotional intelligence and self-awareness. Her work has garnered her recognition by The Office of Women's Policy and Research and Commission of Governor John Bel Edwards and First Lady Donna Edwards.
When she's not celebrating women in the work force she is enjoying life as a mother to 3 beautiful children, wife to her business partner and friend of over 20 years.
Ginger Guttner is a dynamic communications professional with more than 20 years of experience as the Communications Manager for the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. In this role, Ginger leads a wide range of strategic initiatives, including publications, media relations, marketing, and website and social media management, to promote the school's mission and achievements. She is also the official spokesperson for Mike VII, LSU's live tiger mascot, and oversees media relations and social media for the mascot and LSU's mascot program.
With a passion for visual communications, Ginger joined the faculty of the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication in January 2019 as an adjunct instructor, where she shares her expertise and insights with the next generation of communications professionals.
Ginger's credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in English with College Honors from LSU in 1992, a Master of Mass Communication from LSU in 1997, and an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) earned in 2010. Her dedication and excellence in the field have been recognized with numerous awards, including Awards of Excellence from the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) for her veterinary school publications. Ginger is also actively involved in professional organizations, serving on the boards of Southern Public Relations Federation and the Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL) at both state and Baton Rouge chapters. She received the 2013 Member of the Year Award and the 2016 Practitioner of the Year Award, both from PRAL Baton Rouge. In 2021, she was honored with PRAL Baton Rouge's First Circle Award, the highest recognition bestowed by the organization.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ginger is a sought-after speaker and has been featured as one of thirteen speakers at TEDxLSU in 2016, where she delivered a captivating presentation on her work representing LSU’s live tiger titled "Why I Pretend to be a Tiger."
