Baton Rouge Community to Celebrate National Philanthropy Day through Luncheon
BATON ROUGE, LA. – The Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Baton Rouge Chapter (AFP-GBR) is hosting its annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Luncheon on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 through a hybrid event model of virtual and in-person at City Club of Baton Rouge for the honorees. 2020 also marks 30 years of celebrating National Philanthropy Day by honoring community members, foundations, and corporations in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
The National Philanthropy Day luncheon honors those who have significantly contributed to the welfare of our community and highlights those who positively impact the quality of life in the Capital Region. By doing so, we celebrate the spirit of philanthropy when everyone works together to “Change the World with a Giving Heart.”

About the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Greater Baton Rouge (AFP-GBR)
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Baton Rouge Chapter (AFP-GBR) was founded in 1989 with the purpose of advancing and inspiring philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice ethical and effective fundraising. The Baton Rouge Chapter meets the second Tuesday of every month at Juban’s and boasts a membership of 140 members from more than 80 organizations.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Baton Rouge has been named a 2019 Ten Star GOLD Chapter, offering members the opportunity to connect with colleagues, engage in creative thinking, network with new friends and achieve great results in their work.
Every year, AFP, the largest association of professional fundraisers in the world, honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star GOLD Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy.
Less than 20 percent of AFP’s 243 chapters earn the Ten Star Gold Chapter recognition, making the AFP of Greater Baton Rouge one of the association’s leading chapters around the world.
