SCHOLARSHIPS
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Kansas City Chapter (AFPKC) offers several scholarships for its members and those in the fundraising profession. These include scholarships for conference attendance, membership dues, and specific programs like the Chamberlain scholarship and AFPKC ICON scholarship. Scholarship application form can found here.
Scholarships Available
AFPKC Program Scholarship
▪ Purpose and Availability: Scholarships to AFPKC programs are available to members and non-members, but preference will be given to applicants who have not already received a program scholarship during the calendar year. The number of scholarships available may vary annually.
▪ Timing and Deadlines: The application deadline is thirty (30) days prior to the program’s scheduled start date.
AFPKC Membership Scholarship
▪ Purpose and Availability: This scholarship provides for AFPKC and AFP Global membership dues for one (1) year with a preference for applicants who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. The number of scholarships available may vary annually.
▪ Timing and Deadlines: The application deadline is rolling.
AFP Global Chamberlain Scholarship for AFP ICON
▪ Purpose and Availability: This scholarship provides for the cost of registration for AFP ICON with an additional travel and lodging stipend for one (1) individual each calendar year.
▪ Timing and Deadlines: The application opens on August 1 and closes on September 30.
CFRE Scholarship
▪ Purpose and Availability: This scholarship is awarded to a current, active member of AFPKC who has attended an AFPKC CFRE study session within the past twelve (12) months, has not yet received the CFRE certification, has not yet taken the CFRE examination, and agrees to take the CFRE examination within twelve (12) months of receiving the scholarship. The award amount may be up to $350 to support the cost of CFRE application.

AFPKC ICON Scholarship
▪ Purpose and Availability: This scholarship provides for registration fees to attend AFP ICON with a preference for applicants who self-identify as Black, indigenous, or a person of color. One (1) scholarship is available annually.
▪ Timing and Deadlines: The application deadline is thirty (30) days before the early bird registration deadline.
AFPKC LEAD Scholarship
▪ Purpose and Availability: This scholarship provides for registration fees to attend AFP LEAD with a preference for applicants who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. One (1) scholarship is available annually.
▪ Timing and Deadlines: The application deadline is thirty (30) days before the early bird registration deadline.
