Join a Committee

Volunteering on an AFPKC committee is a great way to get connected, grow your leadership skills, and give back to the fundraising community!

Committees are a great way to get closer to AFPKC and also influence the future of the organization by adding your input to our membership efforts, programming or one of our special events! New voices are critical to shaping what we do, reaching new audiences, and ensuring our programs and events best serve the unique needs of the fundraising professional community.

Committees include:

  • Membership - Put your moves management skills to work (or grow them!) by cultivating memberships, stewarding new members and fostering a vibrant community of fundraisers through socials, mentorship and more!

  • Professional Development - have opinions on what fundraisers need to know to be successful in an ever-changing nonprofit sector?  Want to have a voice in future programming and ensure the unique issues facing fundraising professionals are front and center?  This Committee oversees on-going education, skill development and the learning offered through professional development programs, workshops, speakers and seminars – including Fundraising 101, Ethics Month, Fundraising Forward and joint-programming including the annual Funders Forum.

  • Sponsorship - Want to get frontline fundraising experience to add to your resume?  This is a perfect way to work alongside some of the best in the field and add to your skills whether your current job includes frontline fundraising or not! Already a pro?  Help advance the sector and what AFPKC is able to offer by putting your skills to work!

  • National Philanthropy Day - National Philanthropy Day, held each November, kicks off planning early each new year.  Want to add event planning to your skillsets?  Have a passion for showcasing the spirit of philanthropy in our city?  A great way first step is to volunteer at the annual event this fall and check it out!

Want to learn more, get involved or meet someone from a committee?  Email or complete our Committee Interest Form today!  Time commitments vary and there's a spot (and a need!) for anyone willing to help.
