In this virtual session, experienced fundraising professional Mella Castner, will lead a conversation about developing a fundraising strategy that leads to success. A well-planned fundraising strategy lays a roadmap for you and your team to stay productive, organized, and effective. We will discuss steps and best practices that fit organizations of all sizes, from reviewing current processes and campaign performances to telling your organization’s story.

About Our Presenter:

Mella A. Castner is the Director of Development at Akron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs.

Mella is a seasoned fundraising professional with over three decades of proven development experience for area non-profit organizations. At Rotary Camp, she is responsible for annually meeting the needed fundraising initiatives for operations, programming, capital projects, planned giving and special events.

She is passionate about the legacy of area non-profits and mission-driven fundraising. Prior to joining Akron Rotary Camp, Mella was Development Officer/Annual Giving at the Summa Foundation, Director of Development at the Hattie Larlham Foundation and Senior Development/Operations Manager at Junior Achievement of Akron.

She has been a member of AFPNEO since 2000, served as Chapter President in 2012 and recipient of the Outstanding Professional Fundraiser Award in 2019. She is also a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Akron and a past president of WITAN.
