Description

Some nonprofits depend heavily on grant funding for mission support, and some are worried about trying to apply. Our panel of experts will review everything from finding the funding to writing the request and using tools for successful grants management. Whether you are an experienced grant writer or brand new, this training will provide you with an opportunity to pick up a few new tricks or share some of your own.

 

Presented by Lauren Steiner, president and founder of Grants Plus and Dawn Moeglin, principal of Full-Circle Fundraising LLC.

 

Lauren Steiner is president and founder of Grants Plus, a national leader in grant-seeking consulting. Grants Plus has secured $200 million in grant funding for nonprofit organizations around the country since 2007. Under Lauren’s leadership, the company has received many awards for growth and innovation including a Smart Business: Progressive Organization Award and a Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award from the American Psychological Association. Lauren is past president of the Grant Professionals Association Ohio–Northern Chapter as well as an active member and former board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Cleveland Chapter. She was awarded AFP Greater Cleveland’s Outstanding Fundraising Professional award in 2017. She is an active member of the Giving Institute and serves on the editorial review board for Giving USA. Lauren teaches a graduate-level course in philanthropy at the Mandel School of Applied Social Science at Case Western Reserve University. She holds a BS from Ohio University and a JD from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University.

Dawn Moeglin, founder of Full-Circle Fundraising LLC has over 25 years of experience in fund development, nonprofit strategic planning, and marketing. Starting her career by prospecting, researching, writing, and managing grants for nonprofits, schools, and government agencies, she has successfully obtained over 12 million dollars from federal, state, and local funders. Dawn knows how to gather the data necessary to demonstrate a nonprofit’s need for financial support to engage donors and sponsors. She can also expertly tell a story showing how an organization impacts the community it serves so funders feel confident in providing financial support. Her experiences with agencies of all sizes allow Dawn to turn a strategic eye towards system evaluation and implementation, reducing costs while improving efficiencies. Dawn holds a BS in Business Management from Kent State University, is a member of Grant Professionals of America, a former board member of AFPNEO, now serving as the Chapter Administrator. She is a graduate of Leadership Stark County and a member of Women's Impact.
