Dave Coyne is a recognized expert on associations and association foundations and a leader in the association foundation community. After a decade with the firm, he became owner and President in 2013. He has provided senior-level counsel and a wide range of campaign and marketing services to dozens of TSG clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Dave concluded his four-year tenure as Chief Development Officer of the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund, coordinating the resource development program for the Endowment Fund and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Previously, he served as Director of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (then National Society of Fund Raising Executives) Foundation and was Director of Annual Giving for Marymount University before that.
Dave was a founding member of the AFP Shenandoah (VA) chapter and he has maintained his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential since 1996. He is a past president of the Association Foundation Group (www.afgnet.org) and currently serves as Co-Chair of the 2018 National Capital Philanthropy Day for the AFP-DC Chapter and as Vice Chair of the Association of Philanthropic Counsel. He is the 2018 recipient of the Franklin & Marshall College Alumni Development Volunteer of the Year Award.
He received his Bachelor's Degree in 1987 from F&M and his Master's Degree in Public Communication from Syracuse University in 1990. He and his wife Tanya, a 20+ year veteran independent school musical educator, reside in Silver Spring, Maryland, and are parents of a daughter, a 3L at Cardozo School of law, and a son, a senior in the Mile Davis Jazz Studies Program at UNC/Greensboro.
